Green Auto
Insurance
Everywhere you look
people are talking about how they can be
more clean – not themselves, but their
environments. Especially with Al Gore
showing us all how much worse our planet
it going to become – there could not be a
better time for consumers to think about
what they buy and how they live to make
this a better planet for ourselves and for
future generations.
But what is hype and what is the real
deal? There is eco-friendly labeling on
everything from cars to dry cleaners and
now mortgages and car insurance are
getting in on the act. But how can things
like the car insurance you choose to get
impact the environment?
Cooperative Insurance’s Eco-insurance
policy has gone green – and people are
taking advantage of it. What that means is
that if you drive a car that is
eco-friendly, they are going to give you a
discount on your car insurance. They also
support eco-friendly garages for your
vehicle repairs, and they invest in
reforestation projects as well as
renewable energy to offset the carbon
emissions from their clients’ vehicles.
Climatesure is working with several auto
insurance companies like Norwich Union and
Axa, and for every policy one of their
teammates sells, they will invest money in
carbon off-set projects in the amount
estimated that the client’s carbon
footprint will be. Plus, they are not
charging anything extra for these
policies; they just want to be
environmentally responsible.
