Things to
Influence Your Car Insurance
There are lots of things
that influence how much you pay for your
car insurance, and what sort of coverage
you get. One of the biggest things to
remember is that a lot of it has to do
with who you go with. Some people swear by
State Farm, some swear by Geiko – it all
depends on who you are comfortable with,
but some auto insurance companies will run
higher than others.
It also has to do with how much
competition there is in your area for auto
insurance. If there are a lot of agencies
and companies in your area, they will be
more willing to work a deal on the
insurance, then if you are in a little
town in the middle of nowhere with one car
insurance agency. They will be able to
charge you pretty much whatever they want.
It also depends on factors such as age,
driving record, if you are male or female,
if you are married, as well as type of
coverage selected. If you have a higher
deductible you will pay less than if you
have a lower one, and if you drive a
sports car you can believe that you are
paying for that.
Where you drive is just as important as
how you drive, for if you live in the
country your rates will be better than if
you live in the city or a high crime area.
If you drive a lot you will pay more than
someone who only drives a little. If you
pay your bills on time you will pay less
than someone who does not, for some reason
that makes them think you are a bad
driver. You can also get deals for having
more than one car at a particular agency,
or having home, life, flood, etc.
insurance as well as your auto insurance –
more policies means more breaks for you.
If you are a student and are driving you
had better have good grades, because many
car insurance companies will give you a
break for being good in school. They will
also give you discounts for taking classes
on defensive driving, or for having
anti-theft devices on your car. And
finally, always wear your seatbelt, for
not only does that give you better rates,
it will probably save your life.
