You Can Still Get an Auto Loan

No matter how your credit is these days, if you want an auto loan badly enough you can still get one. Many people think that if they have bad credit they will not be eligible for an auto loan of any kind. This is untrue, as there are banks out there that will give you an auto loan, but you have to really want it.

There are basically two kinds of auto loans that you can get with bad credit – or really any kind of credit. There is the secured car loan, or an unsecured loan – the choice is yours.

If you go for a secured bad credit car loan, you will pay less than if you go for an unsecured one. They basically use your car as collateral, so if you don’t pay they take it back – regardless of how much you have paid on it so far. You must pay regular payments, and because you have bad credit you will pay a higher interest rate than someone who has good credit.

However, you will still pay less than if you go for an unsecured auto loan. You will have a harder time getting one, and if you do you will pay a much higher amount in interest charges. Not only that, but you will usually be loaned a lesser amount than you would have been able to get had you used the car as collateral.

If you want a small loan which you are planning on paying off in a very short time, then this is the car loan for you. Otherwise, secured is the way to go to save yourself some money in the long run. The best thing to do is usually to get the secured auto loan and pay it off early – that will save you the most.
