Insurance, Don't leave home without it!

Most states require that you have auto insurance on your car, truck, or van.   Most banks require auto insurance before you receive an auto loan.  Depending on the price paid for a used car, you should ask about full coverage insurance prices.  Laws differ from state to state. The sites listed below will help you with the laws in your state and give you free quotes.

Welcome to Massachusetts!

The state of Massachusetts is particularly pleased by their latest auto insurance company – Geico Insurance. They are the second auto insurance company to enter the industry within the state, and both governmental officials and the people of the state are thrilled that they are soon going to have another option for their car insurance needs.

Last year, when Insurance Commissioner Nonnie Burnes opened up the auto insurance industry in the state, many said that it was a bad idea. Then Progressive came in and starting offering lower priced auto insurance polices and consumers were head over heels with excitement. It completely shook up the auto insurance industry which is what Burnes and Governor Deval Patrick were trying to do.

Geico Insurance has been in talks with the state for months to be able to offer auto insurance there as well. They finally reached an agreement and the auto insurance company filed an application to start doing business in the state in May. The auto insurance company is the third of its kind in the nation, and is sure to give Progressive a run for its money.

The auto insurance company is known for its low cost policies, and although Progressive came in and started offering policies lower than what residents were used to, many think that Geico will be able to beat the pricing that the company has been offering.

Geico already has more than nine million policyholders, and is a subsidiary of Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway. The auto insurance company has reportedly been assessing the situation since Massachusetts deregulated the industry, and finally felt like the time and the terms were right to act.
