Auto Insurance Wins Webby
The Progressive Group of
Insurance Companies’ web site has won The
Webby People’s Voice Award. The auto
insurance company’s website,
www.progressive.com, was voted on by the
public who voted it the best car insurance
Web site of 2007.
Progressive is the nation’s third largest
auto insurance group, and the Webby Awards
is the leading international award
honoring excellence on the internet. It
covers web sites, interactive advertising,
online film and video, and mobile web
sites. They have two sets of awards, one
is judged by the International Academy of
Digital Arts & Sciences and the People’s
Voice awards are determined by the online
public.
For the people’s awards, more than 400,000
votes came on from online from all around
the world on a variety of topics.
Progressive’s site won because people need
car insurance and they want an easy way to
get it and to find out what the auto
insurance might cost them. Progressive’s
site does both.
Progressive was also the first major car
insurance company in the world to offer a
web site, and people say that they want
car insurance that is easy to shop for,
buy, own, check on, etc. Progressive’s
auto insurance web site does that for
people. Progressive also offers the first
auto insurance “rate ticker” which shows
people what they would pay for Progressive
as compared to other auto insurance
companies, and people really like that.
