Auto
Insurance Companies and Their Rates
The residents of the
United States are mad as heck and aren’t
taking it anymore. They say that the idea
that the economy is this terrible and auto
insurance companies are trying to raise
their rates is unconscionable and they
aren’t going to pay. They say that they
would rather go without auto insurance
than pay what is being offered to them.
Experts say that just as every industry
has to cut corners these days, the auto
insurance industry does as well. People
are mad that due to the price of gasoline
they aren’t driving as much, yet their
auto insurance rates keep increasing. In
Georgia, due to the implementation of a
new law that says that they don’t have to
get state approval for increasing auto
insurance policy premiums, several of
their auto insurance companies have done
just that.
The growing trend is that people are just
not paying their car insurance. They say
that in many cases it has become between
paying their mortgage or their electric
bill, and auto insurance just can’t
compete with that. This means that there
are a lot more drivers out on the road now
that don’t have car insurance than ever
before.
This is dangerous for everyone on the road
– but it is also bad for the pocketbook of
those that are paying. For every driver
that does not have car insurance and gets
into an accident, auto insurance rates
will go up for everyone with that company.
This then leads to more dropping their
coverage, and more accident losses spread
out among those that do have it. It is a
vicious cycle, and one that will only be
changed if auto insurance companies learn
to eat some more of the expenses and drop
their rates. Either that, or eventually
they won’t have anyone to insure.
