Auto Insurance Must be Reformed
Residents across the country are calling
for auto insurance reform. They say that
they just cannot afford to pay the car
insurance rates that are out there, and
they feel that their government has
failed them in making sure that they
don’t have to pay enormous amounts for
auto insurance. Auto insurance has
gotten so bad that more and more states
are seeing their residents choosing to
not get any insurance at all because
they cannot afford it. This leads to
more uninsured motorists out there,
which in turn leads to more money having
to be paid by those that do have auto
insurance policies.
It has become a no win situation for
everyone involved, and residents say
that something has to come of it – and
that something had better be lower auto
insurance rates. In Michigan their
residents are so upset that they are
banding together to take on the auto
insurance companies. They want their
lawmakers to bring in auto insurance
reform as they say that it is too much
money to have to pay.
However, in their legislature the
Democrats and Republicans are so busy
fighting over who will win the auto
insurance fight that they have forgotten
who is at the heart of the debate. No
one wants to do what is right if the
other one suggests it first. Partisan
politics is at its worst – and there
seems to be no end in sight.
Residents say that there are plenty of
ways to change auto insurance so that it
is not so bad – they recommend
controlling rates by getting rid of
credit checks and the Democrats approved
it. However, because they did so the
Republicans then turned around and
rejected it. It has gotten terrible and
only the consumer is paying the price.
