Economy Bad for Car Loans

It has been difficult to say the least for the mortgage industry due to the recent economy. However, it has slowly been declining for the auto loan industry as well. Many of those people having problems with their mortgages are now having problems with their car loans as well.

For many it is a choice of what to pay each month. Mortgage or car loan? Electric or auto loan? When put in those terms it is easy to see which one someone might choose to pay. However, it is becoming an endless cycle of debts not being paid, and there seems to be no end in sight.

The banks say that they are seeing record highs of people unable to pay their car loans, and they expect that this is a trend that will continue throughout the year. The auto manufacturers are really paying the price as less and less people are even willing to take on a car loan in this environment.

For some it has become a question of no longer being able to get a car loan. Lenders have gotten much stricter in who they let have auto loans now, as they are afraid of getting burnt by yet another customer who cannot pay for it. There will be many people this year that will not qualify for a car loan simply because of the current state of the economy.
