Canadians Get Auto Loans

It would seem that car sales should be doing well in Canada as there is a plethora of auto loans to be had. According to experts, there are plenty of car loans for the taking if they want them – yet people are not taking advantage of them. They say that unlike in the United States where it is difficult to get a car loan right now if you have less than perfect credit, things are quite different across the border.

They say that only those that have a high debt to income ratio, or have borderline credit scores, are not going to qualify for an auto loan. Instead, these people can go out today from getting their auto loans – but aren’t. They seem afraid to get a new car loan for fear of what may happen.

Experts say that they think perhaps there is a certain amount of extra caution that is going into the decision making process at this time. They say that people are not going to the dealerships to get new cars as they are afraid that they will be stuck with an auto loan in a declining economy. They have found that when asked the stress level surrounding the taking out of a car loan has dramatically increased over the past year.

Dealers themselves are having difficulty getting people in for car loans, which means that the amount of financing that they will get overall for auto loan financing will be decreased. The fewer people that come in looking for auto loans affects the dealers because it gives them less money to give out.
