New Year, New Auto Insurance

Many Americans are looking at the new year and wondering how it might be different from last year. They are wondering how they might be able to lose weight, or be less of a procrastinator, or maybe they are just trying to figure out how to save themselves some money. That last one is pretty easy – all you have to do is look at your car insurance bill and see how much you are paying.

Many people pay too much money for their auto insurance. This is a simple fact. They go to the auto insurance company and they get a policy, and other than changing cars they don’t really look at it ever again. They assume that everything in it is still in their best interest, and that they need all of the coverage that they signed up for when they first signed up.

But this really isn’t true. If you went for a lower deductible, you can increase it and save yourself some money there. Perhaps you opted for rental car assistance – are you paying more over the long run than if you had just rented the car yourself? Sometimes it is simply a case of taking on more than you need.

How much are you paying for your collision coverage on your auto insurance policy? Probably more than the car is worth if you have had it for awhile. Sometimes people get gap insurance or other upgrades, and then don’t need them but still keep paying on them because they simply did not look at their auto insurance policy. So take a look and see what you might be able to save yourself.
