Auto Insurance Will Go Up with a Teen
Driving
So you have auto insurance and you have
worked hard your whole life to keep a
clean driving record and to ensure that
you don’t end up paying a lot of money
for your policy. Then you have kids, and
those kids grow up to be teenagers – and
those teenagers want to drive. The
problem is that teenagers are immature
and everyone knows this – including your
auto insurance agency.
As soon as your teenager goes on your
auto insurance policy you are looking at
an increase in your auto insurance rates
no matter how good of a driver you are.
The auto insurance industry knows that
they are more likely to get into an
accident so they charge you more to
cover them. Teens can raise insurance
costs terribly and this is because they
are not responsible enough to be truly
good drivers.
While driving they do many of the same
things we do – eating, talking on the
phone, etc. – but this is easier for us
as we have a certain maturity about us –
or at least one would hope we do! Teens
can’t understand how we can multitask
but they cannot, and they try it to
disastrous results – hence the increase
in car insurance.
You can help them by getting them a safe
car to drive. Do not go out and get your
teen a sports car – because they can’t
handle it and neither can your wallet.
Find a sensible car that will help in
keeping your auto insurance rates lower.
You can also sign them up for driver
improvement classes – as many who
participate in those can get a break on
their auto insurance as well.
