Need More
Money?
Quite often
people live paycheck to paycheck, and when
there is an extra expense that they were
not planning on, they find themselves
short on the money that was to go to their
mortgage or auto loan. Sometimes it is
just a fact that perhaps they need
something or would really like to buy
something that would truly make their life
easier or happier, but again, they would
not be able to make the auto loan should
they make the choice to buy it.
These people need just a little bit more
money, so that they can buy what they
need. But what happens when you are on a
fixed income or social assistance and
cannot make the auto loan, or even the
food bill? There are places that can help,
such as A Place Called Home.
A Place Called Home is run by a woman
called Jennifer Lopinski, and her job is
to make sure that her clients are getting
their absolute needs met. They are located
in the City of Kawartha Lakes, and
Lopinski says that although the majority
of her clients are at or under poverty
level, their services will help anyone to
comes to them.
Some people come to her for budgeting
assistance, some come to find out how to
make more money. They help them find
affordable housing and help them with
utilities. They have programs to help with
rent and food banks, and the financial
support program can help them if they are
behind on their mortgage, rent, or auto
loans, etc. They say that they call
themselves a homeless prevention program,
because if they can help people deal with
their money, they can keep them in a home.
