Bankruptcy Rates Rise with Insurance Increases

There has been a frightening and corresponding trend among bankruptcy filings and insurance rates within the state of Florida. Many home and auto owners say that they are having difficulty paying their bills because of the hidden fees and agendas that are driving the home and auto insurance industries.

The Florida Legislature has come under fire lately for the extras that are hidden in their bills, and the Florida insurance consumer is responsible for paying those fees. Many are upset because when Charlie Crist promised to cut home and auto insurance fees he said that the consumer would be seeing refunds and savings from the changes.

So far, many have not seen a discount at all, and others have gotten very little back. Some complain that as their home and auto insurance rates continue to increase they can no longer afford the rates as they are barely affording the car and house payments on their own. Others complain that in order to be able to afford the home and auto insurance they have to have such high deductibles that if something happened they wouldn’t be able to pay anyway.

Others are just plain angry at some of the tactics involved in the insurance industry. Some consumers say that companies like Allstate have a hell of a nerve as they have announced they are no longer offering homeowners insurance to residents, but are offering discounts on their auto insurance policies. They want an all out boycott of the company that has left so many in the lurch.
