State Auto
Insurance Announces Expansion
State Auto Insurance was
pleased to announce that they will be
coming to Texas. The State Auto Middle
Market Insurance unit will be coming and
will be lead by Gerald Ladner as their VP
of the southwestern zone office. The
program is currently headquartered in
Columbus, Ohio, so this will be a nice
expansion for the company.
The program, known as SAMMI, was created
about three years ago in response to
agents asking for their commercial lines
to be expanded so that they could cover
larger commercial risks. They currently
have locations in Illinois, Maryland, and
Arizona.
Ladner hails from Rollins College in
Winter Park, FL where he got his
undergraduate degree, and was most
recently regional VP of the company’s
Austin unit of Zenith Insurance. He has
also worked as President and COO of an
Atlanta based auto insurance agency as
well. He has been in the business for 25
years, after graduating from Northwestern
University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Ladner is also very involved in the
community, working as the endowed chair of
insurance at the University of North
Texas, and serves on many boards having to
do with auto insurance. He also works with
the Allen Community Outreach center, which
is a United Way agency.
