South Shore
Auto Collecting
South Shore Auto World
has closed and filed for bankruptcy, and
now they are going after people that they
have paid for more money. The auto
dealership owes a long line of people, and
by declaring bankruptcy, the trustee has
the right to actually go after those
people they did pay for the money they
paid them.
They are in debt for millions of dollars,
and by declaring bankruptcy, they don’t
have to make due on a lot of the things
they owe, including unpaid auto loans.
Many of those that are now having to give
back money the dealership owed them say
that they will fight it in court. One said
that he would declare bankruptcy himself
before he gave them a dime.
This is just the latest in a long line of
problems for the company, they were one of
the largest employers for Upper Township
and now all of those people are out of
jobs. Credit companies have come and taken
away inventory, cars, etc.
The police have been inundated by calls
from customers who said that their auto
loans on their trade-ins were not paid, or
warranties were not filed. Unfortunately,
nothing can be done about them right now,
and the police have their hands tied. The
company defaulted on many car loans, and
now they are taking money from those they
rightfully paid.
