Motor Club
Coverage Desired By Educators
A recent survey of
educators found that 76% of them find a
need for motor club membership. However,
it also found that of those surveyed only
40% actually have a membership. Horace
Mann Educators Corporation was responsible
for the survey, and with these results has
decided to add a motor club program.
The program will offer road service and
repair assistance (up to four times a
year); towing and emergency services such
as tire repair, fuel delivery, battery
boost, winching, and key lockout;
emergency message service and lost key
retrieval; bond and legal defense
reimbursement; discounts of travel related
services such as car rental and lodging;
discounts on entertainment, retail, and
dining; and trip routing and map services.
The auto insurance giant is calling the
program Auto Plan, and with such a desire
for it, they felt they needed to offer it
for the safety and peace of mind of their
clients. Cross Country Motor Club will be
the provider of many of these services
that will be offered. The auto insurance
company primarily serves educators, but
they are offering the Auto Plan to those
that are not in the industry as well.
They will have two plans available for
purchase - one is the Auto Plan Plus One,
which is $54.95 a year and will cover the
educator and one other driver; and the
Auto Plan Plus Family, which is $84.95 a
year and will cover everyone in the family
up to age 22. The benefits of the roadside
and emergency services will be available
24/7, as requested by educators. They are
currently offering it in 24 states, and
have plans to expand across the nation
soon. For more information, contact
