Inflation Only Making Auto Loan Situation Worse

Now that the government is considering increasing the price of gasoline along with all of the other increases they have seen lately – residents and auto makers are concerned as to how this will affect the auto loan industry. The industry says that this is a sign of “unabated inflation” which will only serve to make the industry that much more in dire straits.

The government has already increased the farm loan waiver package and is now discussing an oil price hike. This means that banks will not be able to drop interest rates to spur growth, and less people will be taking out auto loans.

The problem is that you have two problems going on. One is that an increase in gas prices is causing more people to drive less. Add to that the additional drain on their wallet leaving less money for auto loan payments.

The high interest rates are already causing less people to take out auto loans, this will only make it worse. The industry says that by increasing gas prices, they are going to make even less people willing to take on the debt of an auto loan. They know that with the increase in oil banks are going to start increasing auto loan rates.
