Nova Scotia Not Worried About Auto Insurance

Nova Scotia is not worried about the state of auto insurance in their country, and they say that it is really not of interest to their residents as well. In a recent poll of Nova Scotia’s residents, very few people mentioned that they were concerned with it at all. Prior to the cap that they have put on auto insurance claims there were a lot more complaints from their residents, but that seems to have changed.

They say that before the cap on auto insurance was implemented, concerns from residents ranked second, with only health insurance of more importance. Now they find that less than 0% of residents say that it is a concern for them.

Their government says that they are not worried about car insurance and they don’t think that there are any necessary amendments that need to be added on to their auto insurance laws. According to Bill Adam, Insurance Bureau of Canada’s vice president of the Atlantic Region, there is nothing to worry about and they will continue to monitor the industry just to make sure that there isn’t anything that they should be doing.

This comes after premier-elect Darrel Dexter said that he wanted to change the cap on minor injuries during his election. He said that he wanted to see a deducible that was high enough that only those with major injuries would move forward with a claim. Adams says that they will work with the new government to make sure that everything is running smoothly, but reiterated that he did not feel that auto insurance was something that they needed to worry about changing right now.
