Auto Insurance Brokers
There are many ways of getting auto
insurance these days. You can turn to
your local auto insurance
representative, the one that you see in
the strip mall by your house, or you can
go online and take your chances there.
Or you can turn to someone called an
auto insurance broker, which is becoming
quite popular these days. An auto
insurance broker is someone that is
basically a middle man – someone that
can look at auto insurance policies
across the board and recommend one that
is good for you. They are not limited to
any particular company so they can
usually find you a better deal than you
can get on your own – unless you are
willing to put in a lot of time to get
it.
An auto insurance broker basically
matches you up with the best possible
company. They look at the type of car
you drive, your current auto insurance
information – if any, your driving
record, etc. and then they plug all of
that information in and manage to come
up with a policy just for you. If you go
to a State Farm auto insurance agency
you are going to get a State Farm
policy. But if you go with a broker, you
could get State Farm, or Nationwide,
etc. They are not limited to one
company, but they do not give you auto
insurance themselves, they simply pass
it on.
Some brokers will be paid by the auto
insurance company, while others will
charge you a fee. You have to find out
what that fee is first thing, and then
you need to get more information. If you
find them online see if they have an
actual physical address, phone number,
etc. – as you do not want to have to try
and track down a website. Find out
reviews from people who have used them,
and make sure you see their insurance
license.
