Car Surfing
It is funny really. Just when you think
that kids cant find anything more
ridiculous to do or really, more
stupid they go and prove you wrong.
Not only are they proving you wrong with
this latest stunt, but they are costing
their parents more money on their auto
insurance and in some cases, costing
themselves their lives.
The latest idea is car surfing. For
those of you unaware of this lovely
trend one teenager hangs onto the hood
of the car while someone else drives it.
The danger is of course them falling off
and getting hurt, or even death when
they fall under the wheels of the car or
fall the wrong way off of the side of
it.
One 18 year old just found this out the
hard way. He was allowing two young
girls aged 14 and 15 to car surf on
his vehicle while he drove roughly 25
miles per hour. When one of the girls
fell off, a witness called the police.
The police found the man and the girls
down the road where they said that they
were the victims of a hit and run. The
girls were bruised and banged up, but
they were alive.
The police arrested him for recklessly
endangering their lives and breaking
child abuse laws. He is now looking at
possible jail time as well as a much
higher auto insurance rate. If the girls
had died he would have been
looking at perhaps vehicular
manslaughter, etc. He actually got off
easy. But auto insurance companies say
that they are seeing much more of this
in recent months and that this is not an
isolated case.
