Surprisingly Bad Drivers

 
 
Interestingly enough, a recent survey showed that lawyers and judges are the worst drivers. According to a study by Insurance.com, they top the list of the most dangerous drivers. Insurance.com is an independent auto insurance agency in the Cleveland suburb of Solon and they made a list of those drivers who seem to rank fairly consistently as the worst drivers on the road.
 
They based it on the fact those legal professionals that were shopping for auto insurance on their site had reported the highest percentage of auto accidents. In fact, 44% of the auto accidents reported were by that group of professionals. They based these numbers on single drivers that were the primary driver on the policy over the course of seven months of reporting.
 
The auto insurance company thinks a lot of this has to do with the fact that this group of people is more likely to be multi tasking – while driving their cars. They might be talking on the phone, texting, checking a computer, or rushing from one appointment to another. All of these are things that are liable to lead to an auto accident.
 
Interestingly enough, the second biggest group of dangerous drivers is that of dog groomers. Quite often theirs has more to do with the fact that they are concerned with bring “pooped or peed on” or even bit by their clients. They are more likely to be multi tasking while driving as well. But other multi taskers say that this is not necessarily the case. Some groups that consider themselves to be multi taskers say that they are still careful drivers.
 
Some think that it is more of a case of them feeling above the law and therefore are more careless about their driving. The least dangerous drivers were athletes and homemakers. They say that this is because athletes keep non traditional hours and homemakers are more concerned with the safety of their passengers than they are with getting somewhere faster.
