Insurance Fraud Scams
People get car insurance
so that if they are in an accident, or
something happens they will be covered.
This means if you have just purchased a
new car and someone hits you, or you hit
someone else, your car will be paid for
after you pay your deductible. However, if
you don’t have car insurance you would
have to pay for it yourself. It is a
safety policy so that you have peace of
mind.
However, the number of people who are
taking advantage of their car insurance
company has gotten out of hand. It is now
the leading organized crime among a slew
of different insurance scams.
There are several different types of car
insurance scams, but one of the most
popular is a car pulling in front of you
and slamming on their brakes trying to get
you to hit them. This is quite common, so
be sure not to tailgate and if someone
does pull into your lane try and stop as
quickly as possible so as not to hit them.
When they are successful they rack up
thousands in medical bills – many times by
leaving the scene of the crime and then
damaging their car more just so it looks
worse than it was.
Sometimes they get you to hit them by
telling you that you can pull out in front
of them, and then they go. When asked,
they say you pulled out in front of them –
another perfect car insurance scam. It is
their word against yours, and since you
are seemingly the one at fault, it is best
to try not to be taken by it. With some
people being the kind to participate in
this type of behavior, it is best to be on
the lookout so that you are not a victim
of this car insurance scam.
