New Study
Shows Breakdowns
According to a new study
by American Express, 11% of all Britons
who take their cars overseas will have to
deal with a breakdown of some kind. They
have found that more than one in ten will
have their car break down on them while
they are overseas.
When the EuroTunnel was built back in
1994, no one could anticipate how many
Britons would end up taking advantage of
it. More than 3.1 million Britons cross
the Channel every year, but at more than
350,000 will not come back without having
some sort of breakdown while they were
over there.
They say that it is important for them to
check their car insurance before they go
over there. Getting the car and the
occupants back after a break down can
cause thousands of pounds, so it is good
to check and make sure that you are
covered under your auto insurance for any
sort of breakdown while there.
Car insurance experts say that people can
save themselves a lot of hassle if they
just read the fine print on their policy
and make sure that they are covered no
matter where they are. They say that many
people assume that if they break down
somewhere other than home that they will
be able to come home but in all actuality
they will but it will cost them a bundle.
