Can You Get
a Car Loan with Bad Credit? Part I of III
Anyone can fall prey to
having poor or out and out bad credit.
Sometimes you work for years getting your
credit rating high, only to see if fall if
you are out of work, or you get injured,
etc. However, there is hope for those that
have bad credit and want to get a car
loan. Years ago, if you had bad credit you
could forget it, but now the car loan
people want to make it work if they can.
There is something called a bad credit car
loan. This means that even if you have bad
credit, you can still get a car loan, but
you will have to prove that you are trying
to turn things around.
First of all, you must look at how much
you can truly afford in a car. Do not take
on more than you can pay, for it will end
up in you losing the car and any good
credit you started to build by paying on
the car loan. You have to sit down and
figure out what you can afford to pay –
total up all of your monthly bills and see
how much is left over. Do not use up every
available dime, but see what you can
reasonably afford in a car loan.
You will also have additional expenses
like insurance, repairs, etc. – and gas if
you aren’t already budgeting for that.
Your car insurance will increase, it
always does, and your gas may increase as
well. If you are getting a brand new car,
you will need to look at pretty much just
oil changes, but if you are getting a used
car you will want to factor in for repairs
– especially if you don’t know who owned
it last.
Next time we will discuss the
possibilities of putting down roots and
showing stability and dependability – and
how these are factors when being
considered for the car loan.
