MAA Trying
to Assist Car Loan Numbers
The Malaysian Automotive
Association has joined the quest for new
car loan buyers. The group has decided
that if they join up with the government
and try to come up with new ways to spark
business - that everyone will benefit from
it. The car loan industry, the automobile
industry, and the Malaysian government
will all see a piece of the reward.
The auto loan industry has been trying to
get the Malaysian government to assist
them in bringing in more auto loans by
making new cars and their purchase prices
more convenient and more desirable to
consumers. They know that they have to
drive the desire for business if they want
to succeed.
Because sales of new cars, and hence new
car loans, have dropped by more than 17%
over the previous year, and they have seen
the new car market continue to go down
over the past fourteen months, the MAA is
hoping that by offering incentives to car
owners to get rid of their used cars and
buy new cars that they can improve the
industry.
With the trend going to decreases in car
loans and car sales continuing this year,
their fear is that at the end of this year
they will not have reversed this
disturbing trend. Last year they saw car
loans drop 11% from the previous year, and
then they were down more this year. They
are trying to get the trend turned around
before they lose even more money this
year.
