Toyota Auto Insurance Claims
When Toyota announced that they were
having a floor mat recall, no one really
thought too much of it. Then the reports
started coming out that there was a
problem with the gas pedal and people
were dying as a result of it. The
company recalled the cars again for the
gas pedal recall that affected 2.3
million cars in the United States. But
there were people who had experienced
issues with their Toyota’s before the
recall, and paid out of pocket as a
result of a crash or other issue with
the car before everyone knew that there
was a problem.
But it would appear that the auto
insurance companies are aware of this
and they are looking to help you out.
The biggest names in auto insurance –
Geico, State Farm, AllState, etc. – are
going through all of their past claims
involving a Toyota to see if you are
owed money. There is an insurance
industry practice known as subrogation,
and under it the car maker is required
to reimburse the auto insurance
companies for claims that had something
to do with their car. That means that
your auto insurance company will get the
money back that they paid you, and you
will get back any deductibles, etc. that
you paid out as well.
Now millions of Toyota’s have been
recalled din the US and they are
considered responsible for 52 deaths
from the faulty autos. Those that think
that they might be getting a check from
their auto insurance company though
should simply wait as the process is
bound to take a long time.
