Arrests Made in Fraud Case

 
 
There are many places across the world where people will stage an auto accident so that they can collect on the auto insurance claim. There are some places that are more apt to do so, and Tampa, Florida is one of the worst for it. They have an impressive distinction of being one of the highest rated in terms of stated accidents in the country. This means that many of the auto insurance claims that are originated out of Tampa are probably false.
 
Well, according to police that is correct. They say that they have issued 53 arrest warrants just yesterday for those that have been accused of running illegal auto insurance fraud schemes. These people are accused of staging accidents so that they can get the auto insurance money – and it is a crime that has promises of being very lucrative which is why so many people do it.
 
There were four local personal injury protection clinics in among those that were issued an arrest warrant. They are accused of actually coaching people as to how to fake a car accident and make money off of the auto insurance company for nothing. The Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office said that the clinics had stolen somewhere between one and two million dollars from auto insurance companies just over the past five months that they were under investigation by the police. They shudder to think of how much money they made before they were under investigation. They are hoping that these arrests will discourage other people from doing the same thing.
