Cutting Car Insurance Pricing
Allstate has
announced that they are going to be
cutting auto insurance pricing in
California. The company has been
struggling with the insurance regulators
in California over their pricing schedules
for auto insurance policies in the state,
as California is the largest market for
auto insurance.
After months of working with them, they
have decided to cut their policy pricing,
which leads many industry experts to
believe that the talks had not been going
the way the auto insurance company would
have hoped. They say that they will be
lowering their pricing either late this
year or early next year as requested.
With auto insurance companies cutting
their pricing across the board, the
pressure has gotten much worse for
Allstate, and they have been struggling
with staying competitive in the market.
They had announced that their average auto
insurance premiums had gone up 1% over the
previous years as property damage and
injury claims had risen.
With the company now having to reduce the
amount they charge on auto insurance in
California, the company is going to have a
much harder time with their margin of
profitability. The company reported that
their third quarter net income had dropped
7%.
